Despite threats from the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, over the hosting of the FIFA U-17 Championship in the country, the world football Governing body, FIFA, is adamant and will next month make a final inspection of facilities in the country.

FIFA in a statement said it will review all the host cities and stadia in early July while the inspection team will visit at the end of the same month.

MEND had on Monday urged FIFA to have a rethink about the country hosting the championship saying that the safety of international players and visitors cannot be guaranteed.

FIFA has received full commitment from the Nigeria government as well as additional guarantees on security and medical issues.
