55 Bank Debtors Invited By EFCC |

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, is questioning some of bank debtors today, some of whom are owing several billions of dollars in bad loans to five ailing banks.
This was made known by a spokesman of the anti graft agency on Monday.
"We have invited some of the debtors to our office in Lagos. Fifty-five of them will appear today for questioning," the EFCC spokesman said.
He said the debtors were expected to make commitments to the EFCC on how they planned to pay off their debts.
Some weeks back, the governor of Central bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi announced the sacking of the MD's and board of Five banks, Bank PHB,Spring bank three others, the apex bank also published a list of 616 people owing the banks some 450 billion naira.
The list includes top and influencial Nigerians among them is former vice president Atiku Abubakar and billionaire tycoon Aliko Dangote.
Also, in a related development, Top stock broker Ololo and MD of bank PHB were arrested on Friday in connection to the bank debt saga.
