The economic and financial commission has been given go ahead to testify against former governor of Delta state in London.

A Nigerian newspaper, the Guardian reported that a reliable source stated, has "given the go ahead to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to come and testify in London."

Pleading anonymity, the source said: "I think it's because of the huge pressure on the government. There's a lot of pressure on them and I think that's why the Attorney General has allowed EFCC to come and testify. They will be here to testify from November 16."

Asked if the testimony of the EFCC witnesses was the reason for the adjournment, the source answered in the affirmative and said:

"Yeah, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that since the EFCC will be testifying from next Monday, November 16, the Court will not want the trial to resume without them."
