Former Barcelona manager and current coach of German side, Bayern Munich,Louis van Gaal has ruled himself out of the Nigeria job, restating his commitment to complete his two-year contract with German club Bayern Munich.
This developemnt means that the former Ajax and AZ Alkmaar manager will only be available for a new offer in 2011.
The dutch tactician was among the six candidates shortlisted by the Nigeria Football Federation after a meeting last Friday which ended with Shuaibu Amodu being demoted to coach a team of locally-based players.
"I have a contract and I'll respect it. It's not the first time that Nigeria show interest in me, but Bayern Munich represents a great challenge. I think that Bayern will be my last club, after that I'll go to Portugal and there I'll wait a nice offer to guide a great national team," van Gaal said.
Other shortlisted managers on the list of NFF are : Guus Hiddink, Bruno Metsu, Peter Taylor, Hassan Sheata and Ratomir Djukovic, who guided Ghana to the 2006 World Cup .
Meanwhile, report has it that Ireland coach, Italain Giovanni Trapattoni is highly interested in the eagles job, but he is not shortlisted.
